The downloadable packages are executables, ready to start the installation. The executables can be installed directly by double-clicking it in the file explorer after download. They come with a few sample programs, more programming examples are available from our examples pages.

Please note that all packages but one require other packages. So you should download the required packages as well (see footnotes at the bottom of the page). In addition, many of the sample applications which come with the packages make use of GuiPack and ChartPack. If you have a high-speed connection, a more convenient way to obtain the SDL Suite is to download the entire SDL Component Suite at once.

If you are not sure which packages to install you may have a look at the following table which shows a few typical application scenarios:

3)Due to a compiler bug you have to install BDS 2006, Update 1 (or higher) for proper operation of the C++ version of the SDL Suite.

Please note that the contents of the various help files are the same - the files are only different in their format. We recommend to use the HTMLHelp version.
