The Delphi™ unit CDATA consists of some important chemical data tables and conversion routines as well as some basic routines for processing chemical information. Among these are

• the conversion of atom symbols to atomic numbers
• the chemical atomic weight of all chemical elements
• the atom symbols of all elements
• the atomic weight of the most abundant isotope of each chemical element
• the support of a graphical display of a periodic table of the elements
• several important chemical constants
• the calculation of the molecular weight
• the checking for a correct CAS registry number
• the number of valence electrons
